Our Dentists


All of the UAD team members (Doctors and Staff) attend numerous hours of continuing education courses and study clubs and are up to date with the latest advancements in state-of-the-art dental procedures and technologies.  UAD would like to note that several of its doctors are educators; lecturing nationally and internationally. All of this is passed on to you, our patient, to assist you in your dental care; helping you to make a choice based on education and experience.  As an additional side note, Drs. Russ Baer and Martin Marcus are the official dentists for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Dr. Russell Baer

Dr. Baer is presently a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Chicago where he teaches implant dentistry in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics program and conducts clinical research in implantology and reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Baer is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He has written numerous articles and lectured both nationally and internationally on implant dentistry. His passion of implant dentistry led him to the former Soviet Union, where he founded and serves as Academic Director of the Chicago Center for Advanced Dentistry. The center is the leading training center for oral implantology and advanced dental techniques in the former Soviet Union, with offices in Moscow, Kiev, Vilnius, Almaty and Mumbai India. Through this program many American dentists have had the opportunity to teach and practice implant dentistry in this region of the world. Dr. Martin Marcus

Dr. Marcus grew up with a passion for dentistry in a family of dentists including his father and brother. Since his graduation from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1982, his interests lie in the areas of cosmetic and esthetic dentistry, reconstructive crown and bridge prosthetics, endodontics, periodontics and laser assisted dentistry. With help from the latest in computerized dentistry, Dr. Marcus uses Cerec technology, which allows him to place crowns, fillings and veneers in ONE visit. Dr. Marcus is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society, Cranial Academy and Seattle Study Club. Dr. Marcus' passion for dentistry does not stop there, his passion spills over to the patients that he embraces everyday. The patients that Dr. Marcus sees is the true reason behind his passion for dentistry; creating a smile of confidence for each and every one of them.

Dr. Kathryn Delfs

Dr. Delfs is a graduate of University of Michigan where she earned a BS in Chemistry. In 1990 she earned her PhD from Northwestern University Dental School. She has served as Associate Clinical Instructor in the Restorative Department of Northwestern Dental School, as well as Associate Attending Resident at Michael Reese Hospital in the General Residency Program. Dr. Delfs is a published author, with articles featured in Chicago Magazine and CS Magazine on the topics of "Tips on Keeping Your Smile Looking Young" and "Cosmetic Procedures in Dentistry". She has been named the preferred cosmetic dentist for the Elite Modeling Agency and Stewart Talent in Chicago. Dr. Delfs co-authored the book, "History of Microbiology in Korea", with Ik-Chin Chang, MD, PhD and was honored by the American Association of Dental Schools as one of the top 20 minority dentists in the United States. Maintaining pace with her article on keeping a young smile, Dr. Delfs is one of the leading providers of Invisalign, a wireless orthodontic treatment; a truly "clear" option.

Dr. Rauf Yousuf

Dr. Yousuf is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1995. After completing a one-year hospital fellowship in general dentistry at Illinois Masonic Hospital, he received his specialty training in periodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry. He holds a Masters Degree in Oral Biology from Indiana University as well. Dr. Yousuf has been a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois of Chicago, College of Dentistry. Dr. Yousuf specializes in all aspects of periodontics, including soft tissue grafting, bone grafting, implants, crown lengthening and reconstructive periodontal surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontics, Midwest Society of Periodontists, American Dental Associations, Illinois Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society.

A Chicago native, Dr. Christopher Pallotto, earned a B.S. in Biology from Loyola University and his D.D.S at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1986.  In a unique dental career spanning over 20 years, Dr. Pallotto has been a vigorous patient advocate, not only in private practice, but as a product specialist, business leader, and consultant for innovative dental companies developing novel products for patient care particularly in the oral implant and oral regenerative fields.  He has had the privilege of instructing other dentists in the United States, Canada, and abroad.  With a keen interest in all disciplines of dentistry and how they are woven into a comprehensive whole, Dr. Pallotto’s objective for UAD patients is to achieve optimal oral health, natural beauty, and brilliant smiles in a compassionate and professional manner.  Dr. Pallotto holds numerous professional memberships including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
